We all want something, don't we? To realize our fantasies You can waste a lifetime pining for the happy end Regret can be instructive But remorse is a waste of time Just wake yourself up and start up livin' again Don't let the meanstreets get you down There's a rock'n'roll circus in town And we wanna sing hey! hey! We got the fire, a burnin' desire To get up and dance on the highwire Ain't seen nuthin' yet, no safety net Get up and prance on the highwire We got the fire, a burnin' desire To get up and dance and get highwired Dance and get highwired To escape is not a crime It's hard to face life Head-on all the time Got to let go and get wild Every once in a while The band's on stage, it's starry night The vibe's ok and we're feelin' alright Forget your sorrow Tomorrow's just a night away Don't let the meanstreets get you down There's a rock'n'roll circus in town And we wanna sing hey! hey! We got the fire, a burnin' desire To get up and dance on the highwire Ain't seen nuthin' yet, no safety net Get up and prance on the highwire We got the fire, a burnin' desire To get up and dance and get highwired Dance and get highwired Hey! hey! We got the fire, a burnin' desire To get up and dance on the highwire Ain't seen nuthin' yet, no safety net Get up and prance on the highwire We feel the love, we see the light We'll rock'n'roll right through the night We got the fire, a burnin' desire To get up and dance and get highwired Dance and get highwired

Street Poetry is the Finnish rock band Hanoi Rocks' seventh studio album. The album reached the top 10 on the Finnish charts, and succeeded very well elsewhere in Europe too. The first single spawned was "Fashion", and the second was an internet-only single "This One's For Rock'n'Roll". The albums release was celebrated at the Tavastia Club with three live shows, which were followed by a tour across Scandinavia, England and Japan.
The albums title comes from a time when the original Hanoi Rocks were living in London. A drifter was living in the London Underground Ladbroke Grove-station, where he wrote poems of thing's he saw. He was called a "Street Poet", and hence the title "Street Poetry".
Some reviews said that the album was Hanoi Rocks' first real rock record since the 80's.
